Target Audience
This workshop is appropriate for library staff and Friends.

Learning Objectives
Has Facebook's algorithm got you down? Want to get to the next level on Instagram? Thinking about how to really connect with your library's community in social spaces? Join library social media omnivore and inveterate tip-giver Sophie Brookover for a session that'll help you capitalize on your successes, address your challenges, and get you thinking about where to go from where you are right now.

In this session, you'll learn how to:
  • Fine-tune your approaches to community engagement on popular channels like Facebook and Instagram
  • Repurpose your efforts on channels that aren't making a strong enough return on your investment of staff time and expertise
  • Decide what's next for your library in spaces like Twitter, Tumblr, and Snapchat

Our Presenter: Sophie Brookover is the Program Coordinator & Social Media Manager for LibraryLinkNJ, The New Jersey Library Cooperative. As a lifelong generalist and knowledge magpie, Sophie's professional and personal interests intersect along the lines of culture (pop to high) and technology (analog to digital), which makes social media one of her favorite things to discuss with colleagues. You can find her gesticulating wildly about basically everything on Twitter as @sophiebiblio.
